Gentle Aqua-Fit
Class includes low-intensity aerobic conditioning and muscle toning using resistive equipment, featuring new AquaLogix water-resistant equipment. For beginning exercisers.

 

H2O Strength Training & Sculpt and Build
Both classes aimed specifically at body sculpting and toning. AquaLogix bells and fins and the water’s resistance are used to strengthen muscles. Movements are powerful yet controlled, working full muscle extension to complete muscle contraction. For intermediate to advanced exercisers.

 

Hydro Healing

Class is appropriate for participants dealing with chronic health conditions, such as fibromyalgia, Parkinson’s or arthritis. This class includes gentle aerobic conditioning, while maximizing joint movement and overall mobility. For special-population exercisers. Medical release required.

Cardio Circuit
A great combination of shallow and deep water training
with low to zero impact. This workout challenges
cardiovascular fitness, muscular endurance and core
conditioning in a refreshing weightless environment using specially designed equipment to tone and strengthen your body. For intermediate to advanced exercisers.

 

Deep Water Sweat
A complete cardiovascular workout using buoyancy belts and resistance bells and fins. With zero impact, even simple movements like running, become a challenge with the resistance of the water. For intermediate and advanced exercisers.

 

Aqua-Fit

Class includes medium-intensity aerobic conditioning and toning work using the new AquaLogix water resistive equipment. Appropriate for all levels..

With the addition of the outdoor, 25-meter Hazard Pool at Friars Road, Mission Valley YMCA offers a variety of aquatic programming that is unmatched in San Diego.

Our three pools (two at Friars Road and one at Toby Wells) are heated to different temperatures for optimal use for fitness, swim lessons, therapy and recreation.

  • The Hazard Pool at Friars Road (outdoors): Heated to 80 degrees
  • The Pratt Pool at Friars Road (retractable roof): Heated to 90 degrees
  • The McGrath Family Pool at Toby Wells (retractable roof): Heated to 84 degrees.

Aqua-Fit

A coed fitness program using the water’s natural resistance for increasing muscular strength, endurance, flexibility and
cardiovascular efficiency with reduced stress on joints. Safe, effective and fun!

Knee & Hip Post Rehab

 

Continue improving strength and mobility following discharge from a clinical physical therapy setting. Led by certified aquatic personal trainers. Medical release required.
