NEW Cardio Equipment Coming Soon!

We are updating equipment in the cross-training centers. Expect intermittent delays starting the week of Nov. 9th. We know that you will en joy the new equipment and we apologize for any inconvenience caused during installation.

New Parking Lot Hours
East Lot, Friars Road

In an attempt to be courteous to our neighbors, we have instituted hours of operation for the east parking lot at Mission Valley (Friars Road):

  • Mon-Fri: 6:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m.
  • Sat-Sun: Regular hours of operation

We apologize for any inconvenience this
may cause and encourage you to use the
West Parking Lot during these hours.

Holiday Hours/Facility Closures
Please note the following closures and schedule adjustments for the upcoming holiday season and facility maintenance.

Holiday hours:

  • November 26, 2009 - Thanksgiving Day
    All facilities: CLOSE
  • December 24 - Christmas Eve
    Friars Road & Toby Wells: Close at 12:00 p.m.
    Hazard Center: CLOSE
    D
  • December 25 - Christmas Day
    All facilities: CLOSED
  • December 31 - New Year's Eve
    Friars Road & Toby Wells: Close at 4:00 p.m.
    Hazard Center: CLOSED
  • January 1, 2010 - New Year's Day
    All facilities: CLOSED

Facility maintenance:

  • December 22 - 27
    Friars Road: Basketball gym and Mulitpurpose room (group exercise) closed for annual floor revarnishing
  • December 23 - 27: Hazard Center closed for resurfacing, reopening December 28
  • December 24 - 27
    Friars Road: Pratt Pool closed for cleaning

 

November 14-20
Barnes & Noble

The Barnes & Noble Bookfair runs from Saturday, Nov. 14 to Friday, Nov. 20. Any purchases you make during that time period will support the Hazard Center YMCA.

PRYDE kids learn computer skills
San Diego Social magazine is sponsoring a partnership between Mission Valley YMCA's PRYDE program at Montgomery Middle School and a company called The Office Games. Each month, PRYDE students will spend time having fun and learning computer skills at The Office Games facility. Learn more

NEW! Fitness Programs Update

Mission Valley YMCA is excited to announce its partnership with Nike and Apple in a

YAA Activity Calendar
The new calendar for Y's Active Adults is now available. Upcoming: Julian, health fair, the Lion King, cooking class and more. Details

Running Club
A new session of our running club kicks off on November 18. Whether you are training for a marathon or just want to run for exercise, this is a great way to get expert coaching and meet people who enjoy running. Details

Nike + iPod for the Gym!
Try our all-new cardio equipment at both the Friars Road and Toby Wells locations, Nike + iPod for the Gym — a revolutionary concept that allows you to save your workouts on your iPod and post them to the Nike Web site where you can track your work, see your progress online and stay motivated toward your goals. Reminder: Our locker rooms are designated as cell phone-free areas. Please respect other members and use the phone elsewhere.

Our Board of Management

The Mission Valley YMCA operates under the guidance of a Board of Management.  The Board of Management is made up of volunteers from the community.  We gratefully acknowledge their support! More info

Renew your annual membership online. The membership must be within 30 days of renewal. This is great for parents needing to renew a youth membership when registering for camp. Details

You can designate the YMCA to receive your donations through the 2007-2008 United Way/CHAD or Combined Federal Campaign (CFC). Details
