The Toby Wells YMCA gymnastics program is based on progression, and we
encourage mastering basic skills before moving to harder skills. Classes are
designed to allow for a smooth transition from one class level to the next. Boys in
Progressive classes will have the opportunity to use all of the men’s gymnastics
apparatus: floor exercise, pommel horse, parallel bars, rings, vault, and high bar.
Children enrolled in these classes learn gymnastics terminology and develop
strength, coordination, flexibility, and self-confidence. As the boys progress, more of
an emphasis on strength and conditioning will occur. Evaluations are required for
gymnasts who want to move up to the next level. For additional information, please
contact Beki Floyd at 858-469-9622.
