Get ready to dig your toes in the sand and RUN — for fun and to support your Mission Valley YMCA!

Sign-up for the Sand Pit 5K or the Sand Puddle, Saturday, September 15 at Mission Beach! You don't have to be an experienced runner to take part in this obstacle-course event in the sand north of the roller coaster at Belmont Park.

The Course:
  • This out-and-back 5K will consist of a minimum of 10 beach obstacles in water and on hard and soft-packed sand
  • Obstacles will include, but are not limited to: "Water jogging," seal crawls, jump walls and tire rings, finishing with the 10-foot Sand Everest Mountain along with the 3-foot-deep SAND PIT.
  • The Sand Puddle will be 1.5K-2K and will consist of six obstacles, including Sand Everest and the Sand Pit at the finish line.
  • Note: Minimum age 12 for Sand Pit Race and minimum age 8 for Sand Puddle.

All Team members, except for the captain, must complete the online waiver to participate in the event.
